Join us for the Coastal Flora and Fauna Art Exhibit at the UGA Aquarium where you will discover the intersection of art and science and the unique beauty of the Georgia coast.
The exhibition will open April 29, 2023, and will feature 10 pieces created by students at Savannah College of Art and Design. The students were inspired by their visit to the UGA Aquarium on Skidaway Island, where they were introduced to marine life as well as coastal habitats and wildlife found on the facility’s nature trail which traverses maritime forest and salt marsh habitat.
On April 29 from 1 – 3 p.m. visitors will have the opportunity to view the student artwork and meet the artists to discuss their pieces and learn about the inspiration behind their work.
The collection will be on display at the UGA Aquarium from April 29 – May 27 before moving to the Gray’s Reef Ocean Discovery Center in downtown Savannah. The exhibition at the Discovery Center will run from June 4 where it will be on display until Sept. 3.
The exhibition viewing at the UGA Aquarium is included with the cost of admission.
