25 Years of Earth Day Savannah

  • Daffin Park E. Victory Drive Savannah, GA (map)

The City of Savannah Office of Sustainability hosts the 25th Earth Day Savannah festival. With the support of the Lite Foot Environmental Foundation and sponsors, this year’s event promises to be an engaging and educational experience for all attendees — rain or shine!

This event aims to raise awareness about the crucial role that healthy food, clean air and water, and global biodiversity play in supporting human health. The festival is Savannah's largest environmental outreach event and one of the most significant educational gatherings related to Earth Day in Georgia.

The City’s Office of Sustainability is excited to speak with the community about the 100% Savannah plan. In March of 2020, City Council unanimously approved a resolution calling for 100% of electricity in the city to come from a renewable clean energy source by 2035. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how they can save money by improving their home’s energy efficiency or leasing solar panels from the City’s trusted partners.

Throughout the evening, hands-on workshops will give residents a chance to incorporate sustainability into their daily lives. Highlights include sessions on managing anxiety about the climate crisis, mending your clothes, and empowering young climate activists.

Children’s activities, food trucks, and local nonprofit vendors will round out a full evening of family fun in Daffin Park.
