Step aboard history as we honor the S.S. Savannah—the first steamship to cross the Atlantic Ocean and the reason we celebrate National Maritime Day. Discover our detailed scale model of this groundbreaking vessel and learn about its historic 1819 voyage that changed maritime travel forever. It’s a day to celebrate innovation, exploration, and Savannah’s seafaring legacy—fun for the whole family!
This event is free and open to the public, generously supported by our educational sponsors: City of Savannah, Peeples Industries, Georgia Ports Authority, the Flatbush Foundation, and Gulfstream.
Let’s set sail together on this special day!
