Make a splash at the 2025 Sand Arts Festival! SCAD students and alumni will take to Tybee's South Beach to transform the shoreline into a dazzling sculpture gallery — a gallery featuring a large-scale sand drawing by environmental sand artist Andres Amador. Teams and solo competitors will set out to wow spectators and judges alike for a chance at several big prizes.
Whether you plan to stroll among the sandy sights or dive into the competition, be sure to pack the essentials: sunscreen, sunglasses, a picnic lunch, and plenty of water.
This event, presented by the SCAD School of Foundation Studies, is free and open to the public.
For contestants
When registering, each team will be required to select a team captain and register up to five team members using their SCAD student ID numbers. Be prepared with all members of your team or their student ID numbers before you begin the registration process. SCAD Foundation Studies Student Group and Large Group category teams may have up to 10 members to compete against other groups.
Alumni can use this form to register to participate in advance. Alumni may also register the day of the event, Friday, May 2, at the South Beach pier.
