Endless Summer: 'The African Queen'

Thursday, Jun. 4 | 7:00 pm

Director: John Huston

Duration: 105 mins.

Year: 1951

Presented by SCAD

75th Anniversary!

Director John Huston serves up grand adventure and romance in this Oscar-winning classic filmed on location in Uganda and the Congo in glorious Technicolor. Set during World War I, the legendary Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn star as one of the most unlikely pairings in screen history -- he's a liquored up louse of a riverboat captain and she's a snooty, straight-laced missionary. Yet, this disparate duo must join forces to navigate treacherous waters and attempt to take down a German gunboat along the way. Even 75 years later, THE AFRICAN QUEEN remains a sparkling showcase of star power, wit, and old-Hollywood escapism at its finest.

Tickets are free for SCAD Card holders; $5 for students, seniors, and military; and $8 for the general public. Passes for the full Endless Summer series are available for $40.
