For the FIRST TIME since their induction in to the prestigious Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, TWO Founding Members of world-renowned icons, "The Cars", will be performing together again!
This incredible night will feature a Q&A Panel Discussion hosted by "Behind the Hits" Founder Thomas Claxton with Elliot and Greg on their careers and legacies as well as a full-production concert featuring an 8 member band revisiting the iconic music of "The Cars" and MORE!
About the Special Guests...
Elliot Easton is the founding lead guitarist of the legendary band The Cars. He studied music at the prestigious Berklee College of Music before helping form The Cars in Boston in 1976. Easton’s distinctive guitar work became a defining element of the band's sound, blending rockabilly-inspired leads, melodic hooks, and concise, memorable solos on classic hits such as “Just What I Needed,” “My Best Friend’s Girl,” “Let’s Go,” “Shake It Up,” and “You Might Think.” As The Cars rose to international fame, they became one of the most influential bands of the late 1970s and 1980s, selling millions of albums and helping shape the sound of the new wave era.
Following The Cars’ initial breakup in 1988, Easton continued an accomplished career as a solo artist, session musician, producer, and member of several notable projects, including Creedence Clearwater Revisited, The New Cars, and The Empty Hearts. In 2011, he reunited with the surviving members of The Cars to record the acclaimed album Move Like This, the band's first studio release in 24 years. Easton’s tasteful, melodic playing style has earned admiration from generations of guitarists and helped establish him as one of rock’s most respected lead guitarists. His contributions were formally recognized in 2018 when he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Cars.
Greg Hawkes is a founding member and legendary keyboardist of the iconic band The Cars. A native of Maryland, Hawkes studied composition and flute at Berklee College of Music before joining future bandmates Ric Ocasek and Benjamin Orr in several early musical projects that eventually led to the formation of The Cars in Boston in 1976. His innovative use of synthesizers, keyboards, and electronic textures became a defining element of the band's signature sound, helping propel classic hits such as “Just What I Needed,” “Let’s Go,” “Shake It Up,” “Drive,” and “You Might Think” to international success. Hawkes’ groundbreaking keyboard work helped shape the sound of new wave and synth-pop music, making him one of the most influential keyboardists of the rock era.Following The Cars’ original run, Hawkes continued an accomplished career as a composer, session musician, producer, and solo artist. He performed with numerous acclaimed artists, released his own recordings, and later reunited with fellow Cars guitarist Elliot Easton in The New Cars before rejoining the surviving members of The Cars for the acclaimed 2011 reunion album Move Like This. In recognition of his enduring contributions to music, Hawkes was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018 as a member of The Cars. More than four decades after helping redefine popular music, his distinctive keyboard style and musical innovation continue to influence generations of musicians and fans around the world
